Rob Taube Words & Music
Words

Rob Rob Taube has been playing and creating music ever since his childhood in central Illinois. His songs reflect a love of many styles, with an emphasis on folk, country and Beatles-era rock music. In the 1980s he played piano and guitar and sang for a living all over the Detroit area, including a stint with the house band at the Michigan Opry, where he shared the stage with such artists as Merle Haggard, Conway Twitty, and Hank Williams, Jr.

During this period, his own tunes were beginning to receive airplay and attention, but a serious car accident in 1985 abruptly altered the course of his life and he came to New York City two years later. There he pursued a music journalism career for several years and recovered from his injuries enough to continue playing music professionally. Eventually he returned to his first love: crafting words and music into appealing, memorable songs. He wrote and produced a CD entiled "Busy Being Born" (available on Avid Records) in 2001, and his song "My Little Love" won the grand prize in the 2005 Michigan Songwriters contest. "Savannah", co-crafted with New York songwriter Hugh Colocott, was recently picked up by Faverett Music Group, a Nashville publisher.

Rob now performs regularly in New York City, is working on a new CD, and is co-writing with numerous artists in New York, Nashville, Los Angeles, and Michigan.
