A former member of the Detroit rock band Scratch, Rob has worked all his life as a professional keyboardist, guitarist and singer, and his credits include gigs with major musical acts like Hank Williams Jr., Leon Russell and James Taylor. As a producer, Rob combines a rich background in analog recording with an up-to-the minute mastery of Pro Tools to create a unique sound produced in his East Village studio, Groove Garden.
Rob has, for quite some time, been writing songs with Simon Kirke, the multi-talented drummer for the legendary rock band Bad Company. Several of their joint compositions are featured on Simon’s latest album All Because of You and on Rob’s own record Halfway Home. Rob is currently working on songs with Carla Torgerson of the Walkabouts, for an album which will be released soon. He is also co-producer and music director for the activist rock band Nikki and the Human Element. He also has a strong Nashville connection with Mark Barnowski, Corey Lee Barker, and other active songwriters who place music in movies and television.
In addition to his own singing and songwriting, he is currently helping develop a small roster of talented up-and-coming NYC artists like Jack Gerhard and Ro Redfern. For more, Listen here: Rob Taube’s Soundcloud stream
